- 10 regular sized marshmallows
- 4 cups vanilla ice cream
- ¾ cup milk
- pinch of salt
Line a sheet pan with tin foil—do not use parchment paper, as it can catch fire. Lightly spray the foil with cooking spray to help prevent sticking.
Arrange 10 marshmallows on the foil. Using a blow torch, toast 8 of them on all sides until deeply charred—this will bring out the smoky flavor. The remaining 2 marshmallows will be used as garnish, so toast those just until lightly golden.
You can toast the marshmallows under your oven’s broiler. Be sure to watch them closely to avoid burning, and remove once nicely charred. Alternatively, skewer them and toast individually over a gas stovetop flame or open fire.
Scoop your ice cream into a mixing vessel large enough to hold all ingredients with a little room to blend. Add the milk, the 8 charred marshmallows, and a pinch of salt.
Use an immersion blender to blend until completely smooth. A regular blender works just as well if that’s your preference.
Pour the milkshake into two tall glasses. Garnish with the remaining two toasted marshmallows. Add a straw, sip, and enjoy!
