I’m thrilled to be teaming up once again with The Good Life Embassy for the Taste Our Lifestyle campaign to talk about the incredible benefits of Olive Oils from Spain! Only this time around, we’re not eating the Olive Oil, we’re using it directly on our skin.
You see, olive oil isn’t just good for you’re insides, it’s good for your outsides too. It’s no secret that a diet high in Olive Oils from Spain will help you shine from the inside out. But when applied directly to the skin, the powerful antioxidants help restore the skin’s elasticity and gives you a gorgeous glow.
This time of year I’ve just about had it up to here with my dull, flaky, dry skin. I’m throwing in the towel, yelling uncle – ENOUGH ALREADY! Even though it’s technically Spring, the bone dry, chilly weather just won’t seem to quit. I’m ready for long, humid sunny days spent picking tomatoes from the garden – and dousing them in lots of Olive Oils from Spain, of course.
But first, we must get through Spring. And Spring is the perfect time of year to clean things up a bit: clean up the house, clean up the yard, clean up our diet, and clean up our skin.
Olive oil contains four major antioxidants which allow it to help cleanse, moisturize and protect our skin: Vitamin A, Vitamin E, Polyphenols and Phytosterols. Each of these powerful antioxidants help to neutralize the free radicals that cause skin damage and prevent them from doing harm.
The lipid profile of Olive Oil is very similar to that of our skin, so it works harmoniously to add moisture and deliver much needed vitamins and nutrients to our pores. For this skin mask, I’ve combined the powerful liquid gold with a few other gentle, skin-brightening (and edible!) ingredients you probably already have lying around:
An egg yolk delivers protein to the skin to boost collagen production and build elasticity. Egg yolks are also high in Vitamin A, B Vitamins and Zinc which help calm, hydrate and nourish dry, irritated skin.
Honey is a natural antiseptic, so it’s excellent for cleaning out pores and both treating and preventing acne. It’s also loaded with antioxidants and is extremely soothing and moisturizing, perfect for calming redness and healing scars.
Baking Soda is added to give the mask some body and works as an exfoliant. It has tiny granules that gently buff away dead skin cells to reveal glowing new skin underneath. It also has natural antiseptic properties and works to clean and balance the skin.
Together with the Olive Oils from Spain, this face mask will leave you feeling clean, refreshed and ready for the warm sunny days ahead.

3-4 applications that need to be used within 3 days? Sounds like a mini spa day with a couple of GF’s to me! I SOOOO need this, too! Can’t wait to shed the tough winter outer layer on this mug! Thanks, Coley!
That sounds like a fantaaaaaaastic idea!!
I can’t wait to try this!
Girls at-home spa night in our future?? AKA, drink wine and laugh a lot 🙂
Coley:
I’ve been using an olive oil product on my skin since October and it’s amazing. Can’t wait to try this masque. Exercise, water and enough sleep are my anti-aging secret! Plus awesome whole food!
Well your anti-aging secrets are working!! Enough sleep is never a problem for me, enough water and exercise are a different story! 🙂 Hope you make the mask and love it!
I like diy facial mask and now using facial mask with oatmeal, egg and apple. The recipe is very easy and effective. Ingredients: Apple, Egg Yolk, Oatmeal. Blend these 3 ingredients well. Spread the mixture all over your face. Let the mixture stay for about 20-30 minutes. Rinse it off with pure water. That’s all. You can try this recipe.
I wonder why olive oil should be exactly from Spain only! while other countries like Tunisia where I come from are having a better and tastier extra virgin olive oil?!
I would love to try Tunisian olive oil!
